In many cases when trying to locate hard to find missing persons, the name and date of birth and the gender of the subject is the only definite information known. Also, certain points should be taken into consideration when searching for a female or someone who is adopted. For these reasons, we have provided the following additional information which will prove helpful in your missing person search.

If your subject is female, click here.
If your subject is male, click here.

SPECIAL NOTE:
These searches are not designed to locate minors (persons under the age of 18). Also, if your subject has recently turned 18, it is unlikely that these searches will locate useful data about them. If you are searching for someone who is not yet 18, or who has recently turned 18, it is advised that you try to locate them by locating the parent or guardian who is, or most recently was responsible for their care.

  Searching for a Woman

Because women tend to change their name by marriage, etc., it often takes a little extra effort to locate their current address. There are three basic ways to locate a female - assuming that you do not have her Social Security Number, which, of course, is the best way to locate anyone, regardless of the name they may be currently using -

  1. By using the First Name and Date of Birth as search criteria;

  2. By using a Name and Previous Address;

  3. By searching for someone else - a brother, sister, uncle, aunt, mother, father, cousin, friend - who may be able to lead you to your Subject.

Our missing person searches are designed to make searching for a woman as easy as possible. Simply check the following list of options for the scenario that most nearly matches your situation:

  • If you have your Subject's Social Security number, use our Social Security Number Trace to locate records containing her present name, current address, address history, etc..

  • If you have your Subject's previous address and the name she used while at that address, and do not have her Social Security number, use our Address Update Search to locate records containing her present name, current address, address, etc..

  • If you are absolutely sure of the first and last name your Subject CURRENTLY uses, and you have her exact or approx. date of birth, and you do not have her Social Security number or previous address, use our Name and Date of Birth Search to locate records containing her address data.

  • If you know your Subject's first name, and you have her exact date of birth, and you are not certain of the last name she Currently uses, and you do not have her Social Security number or previous address, use our First Name and Date of Birth Search to locate all available records matching the name and date of birth.

  • If your Subject's first name is unusual, and you are not certain of the last name she Currently uses, and you do not have her Social Security number or previous address, you can use our First Name and Date of Birth Search with an approximate date of birth - or, if her first name is very unusual, you can search with no date of birth, to locate all available records matching the name and date of birth; or, in the case of a very unusual name, you can obtain all available records that match the name.

A reminder: If you have a person's Social Security number, then that would be the best information to use to obtain their current address, regardless of any other information you have. See our Social Security Number Search for more information.

  Searching for a Man

Because a man's name tends to remain constant, it is often much easier to locate his current address than to locate a woman's. There are three basic ways to locate a man - assuming that you do not have his Social Security Number, which, of course, is the best way to locate anyone, regardless of the name they may be currently using -

  1. By using the Name and Date of Birth as search criteria;

  2. By using a Name and Previous Address;

  3. By searching for someone else - a brother, sister, uncle, aunt, mother, father, cousin, friend - who may be able to lead you to your Subject.

Our missing person searches are designed to make searching for a man as easy as possible. Simply check the following list of options for the scenario that most nearly matches your situation:

  • If you have your Subject's Social Security number, use our Social Security Number Trace to locate records containing his current address, address history, etc..

  • If you have your Subject's name and previous address, and do not have his Social Security number, use our Address Update Search to locate records containing his current address, address history, etc..

  • If you have your Subject's name and exact or approx. date of birth, and you do not have his Social Security number or previous address, use our Name and Date of Birth Search to locate records containing his address data.

  • If you know your Subject's first name, and you have his exact date of birth, and you are not certain of his last name, and you do not have his Social Security number or previous address, use our First Name and Date of Birth Search to locate all available records matching the name and date of birth.

  • If your Subject's first name is unusual, and you are not certain of his last name, and you do not have his Social Security number or previous address, you can use our First Name and Date of Birth Search with an approximate date of birth - or, if his first name is very unusual, you can search with no date of birth, to locate all available records matching the name and date of birth; or, in the case of a very unusual name, you can obtain all available records that match the name.

  • To locate a man with a common name, such as John Smith, David Brown, William Jones, etc., you should try to obtain his exact date of birth or a previous address (see our Address Update Search) or the name of a roommate or spouse (see our Roommate Search) to improve your chances of a successful search.

A reminder: If you have a person's Social Security number, then that would be the best information to use to obtain their current address, regardless of any other information you have. See our Social Security Number Search for more information.
